Newcomer Language Advisory Body (NLAB)

Purpose

NLAB is an advisory body that brings together a broad and representative cross‑section of the settlement language sector. Its membership includes experts from organizations involved in language training and assessment services, teacher training, employment and language training, curriculum development, Indigenous learning, adult education, newcomer services, and emerging learning technologies.

Mandate

To provide sector-informed perspectives on language training issues, support national dialogue, and contribute to NSIC discussions.

Relationship to Governance Structure

NLAB is a unique national body that does not report to SIPPC, SISDC, or NSIC. NLAB is an advisory body that contributes to National conversations.
